City of Arts and Science, Valencia

The City of Arts and Science is a cultural and architectural complex of modern buildings.

The buildings were designed by Santiago Calatravia, architect and engineer, and Felix Candela, architect. All the buildings are of a high standard of architecture and engineering, utlising white concrete and thin shell construction.

Building work commenced in 1998 and was completed in 2005 to provide multiple art facilities including an opera house, museum, aquarium, laserium, IMAX cinema and planetarium.
